<\/b> BNEC\u2019s commitment to grow and innovate is a core value reflected in its annual events, serving as a continuous platform for students to discover and unlock their extraordinary potential. Stepping into university life is a defining milestone, one often filled with boundless ambition alongside the challenge of navigating an unfamiliar environment. Embracing this journey, BINUS English Club (BNEC) proudly launched the 2026 New Member Recruitment (NMR). Centered around the theme <\/span>‘Branching out towards extraordinary growth,’<\/span><\/i> this annual event is more than just an onboarding process, it is an open invitation for freshmen to plant their roots, build meaningful connections, and cultivate the skills needed to flourish far beyond the classroom.<\/span>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The New Member Recruitment (NMR) campaign serves as an introductory platform for incoming Binusians, particularly Binusian 30, to discover BNEC and explore the opportunities it offers. Through NMR, prospective members are introduced to BNEC\u2019s learning platforms, organizational culture, achievements, and community, allowing them to gain a better understanding of what it means to grow and contribute as a member of BNEC.<\/span><\/p>\n The expo was held on August 12\u201313, 2026, the NMR Expo served as the first and most direct point of interaction between BNEC and prospective members. Taking place over two days, the expo brought the BNEC experience closer to campus life through interactive booth activities, one-on-one engagements with freshmen, and an energetic organizational parade performance. These activities provided prospective members with an opportunity to experience BNEC’s welcoming atmosphere, learn more about its programs, and connect with the people behind the organization.<\/span><\/p>\n The opening day of the NMR Expo was filled with excitement. The morning kicked off with a vibrant parade featuring every student organization at BINUS @Bekasi. Taking the spotlight, the BNEC team delivered a thrilling, high-energy group performance that instantly captivated the crowd and shared our vibrant spirit with the watching freshmen. Once the excitement of the parade settled, the booths opened and freshmen began making their way to the BNEC booth, eager to try out the interactive games and get their hands on exclusive merchandise. The enthusiastic response was encouraging, with many new faces stopping by, asking questions, and showing genuine interest in finding a community where they could learn, grow, and belong. Day one came to a close, marking a start to the series of recruitment activities ahead.<\/span><\/p>\n Day two kept the momentum going with lively organizational showcases and matches that brought excitement across BINUS @Bekasi. One of the day’s highlights was the launch of the Sapa O.K. sessions, which ran alongside the booth activities. The turnout exceeded expectations, with prospective Binusian 30 members filling the classroom and actively engaging as they learned more about BNEC’s membership tracks and community culture. Meanwhile, the booth continued to welcome visitors throughout the day. With the floor traffic being relatively calmer, the committee took the initiative to reach out to freshmen across different areas of the campus through targeted floor promotions. This allowed the team to have more direct, one-on-one conversations with prospective members, giving them a chance to answer questions and introduce BNEC to those who had not yet visited the booth.<\/span><\/p>\n Sapa O.K is a dedicated 30-minute classroom presentation designed to introduce BNEC in depth to incoming freshmen. During this session, we walked the Freshmen through everything they needed to know about the organization, including a clear breakdown of our membership tracks, such as Member with Class, Member Non-Class, and Talent Member. We also gave them a look into our major annual events, such as the Company Visit and the School English Competition, helping them see the real value of joining the community. Alongside these classroom sessions, the team actively ran booth activities and floor promotions across campus. This gave us the chance to follow up with freshmen through simple one-on-one chats, answer any extra questions they had about the presentation, and reach out to those who hadn’t made it to the classroom yet.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n What happened during the session completely exceeded our initial expectations. Heading into Sapa O.K, we actually kept our expectations pretty low because only five freshmen had signed up through the pre-event Google Form. However, to our surprise, 13 enthusiastic students showed up to fill the classroom. Throughout the 30-minute presentation, the audience was genuinely engaged and paid close attention as we explained BNEC\u2019s membership tracks and events.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The energy carried over straight into the Q&A segment, where many of them actively asked questions to clear up their doubts. To show our appreciation for their participation, we handed out BNEC lanyards to those who joined the discussion. The biggest highlight of the session came right after we wrapped up, as several freshmen were convinced enough by the presentation that they immediately decided to register on the spot.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Handling the event starting from preparation to the day of the expo has taught us many new things about management and marketing. During the expo, many of us learned how to market BNEC to the freshmen and one of the things we learned to improve on was our communication. We learned how to communicate better to the freshmen regarding BNEC; what the organization is about and the benefits they can gain from joining BNEC. We learned how to promote BNEC by paying attention to what the freshmen may be looking for during their time in college and how BNEC can be a good option for them to reach their goals. Another thing we improved on was also teamwork. We learned to work together during busy hours at the booth and to back each other up whenever we’re walking around doing promotions.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n After The New Member Recruitment Expo ended, we began to move towards our next plans which are to prepare for the insight sessions and the welcoming party. We will be holding the insight sessions online via Zoom and in three batches. The first will be on the 23rd of August, the second on the 26th of August, and finally the third will be on the 6th of September. Meanwhile the welcoming party will happen on the 13th of September in BINUS @Bekasi where all of the new members of BNEC from every region will gather together.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Insight sessions serve as a kind of orientation for the new members of BNEC and for the potential members of BNEC. During these insight sessions, members could learn more about BNEC starting from the organization’s culture and activities, to sharing sessions with BNEC’s alumni where they talk about their experience in the organization. During these insight sessions, the members are able to ask questions or start discussions regarding BNEC. The welcoming party is essentially a starting point for BNEC’s new members as they transition into the organization after the recruitment process through fun activities that promote community bonding.<\/span><\/p>\n Image 1.
